within the Gayme 0n community for The Secret World.
Gayme 0n, a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and sexual minority guild for The Secret World, is pleased and proud to announce our elected in-game political structure, from highest to lowest::
High Councillor - Appointed by the Council of Venice, since the Council of Venice spans all three factions, there is only one High Councillor within the game.
Councillor - elected by the Members every month. There is one Councillor for every ten active members in the Councillor's faction, rounded up.
Agent - Upon taking office, each councilor appoints two Agents to assist him/her with enforcing Council policies. Usually this is member invites and keeping the peace.
Member - Everyone in the guild starts in this position. To vote in a Council election, a member needs to be active on the website within the past 30 days, have a character in that faction no less than 2 weeks from the start of that month's nominations.
Who is the leader of Gayme Øn?
Quietus, SirZac, & Vel are the leaders of GØ outside of the game. In-game they are the functional guild overseer for their respective faction,
but do not participate in the maintenance of the in-game guild in it's day-to-day functions.
Quietus will represent the Illuminati, SirZac will represent the Templars and Vel will represent the Dragons.
Who is seated on the Council of Venice?
The elected Councilors and the High Councillor. The Gayme Masters take no part in the Council unless vote for High Council is a tie or one of the Gayme Masters is holding a position for a Cabal.
The only exception to this is in the serious discussion if a member needs to be expelled from a Cabal.
What does an Agent do?
This is left up to the Councillor to decide of each Cabal. This may vary from Cabal to Cabal.
Ultimately they should have the power to invite players into the Cabal and help the Councilors run it.
The second part is purposely vague, as we the Gayme Masters don't want to dictate whatever direction each Cabal should take.
What does a Councillor do?
That's decided by the council, however they are the functional Officers of the guild. So in that sense, they would run events, discipline troublemakers, decide policies, and so forth.
They will have the power to invite/kick members from the Cabal.
If this is abused in any way, the Gayme Masters will step in and rectify the situation.
Under no circumstances is someone to be removed from a cabal without documented probable cause and majority approval from the Gayme Masters, Councilors and the High Councillor.
What does the High Councillor do?
Leads and steers the Council of Venice. The High Councillor represents all factions and none at the same time.
High Councillor is the voice of the Secret World gaymers within Gayme Øn, so he/she is offered to be interviewed on the Gayme Øn podcast to give a monthly State of the Gayme.
He/She will also arbitrate any issues that arise among council members of any of the cabals, if those council members can't come to an agreement among themselves.
How do Council Meetings work?
The High Councillor may call a Council Meeting. A Councillor may request one also, but ultimately this is left up to the discretion of the High Councillor.
This is handled by making a post in the Councilors' forums.
There is a mumble channel available for use for the meeting and there's a chat window that will be locked only for Councilors on the this site for those that can not be on mumble.
It is required that the Chat Window be used in addition of Mumble if a Council Member is unable to use that service. In these circumstances the Council is to pay attention to the Chat Window as well, if they are in Mumble.
Is this for roleplaying purposes?
Yes and no, this setup encourages RPing, but this is still dealing with the actually functionality of the guild.
How are the amount of council seats decided?
There is one council seat for each 10 voting members within the faction, rounded up. If there are less than 10 voting members in the faction, the GaymeMaster for that faction represents on the Council.
Lets say you have 7 Dragon, 11 Templar, and 33 Illuminati members.
There would be 7 Councilors total.
Dragons would be represented by a Gayme Master (1), Templars would have 2 Councilors, and the Illuminati would have 4 Councillors.
How is the Council of Venice elected?
Nominations start the 15th of every month, any voting member (active within 30days and no less than 14days in the guild) may opt-in to run for Councillor.
Nominations stay open for a week, or until the 22nd, after that voting begins. There is only one vote allowed per voting member and duplicate votes will be discarded.
Only the first vote you cast for that month will count, so choose wisely.
The polls close on the last day of the month, and the Councilors are appointed.
On the first day of the month the Councilors appoint the High Councilor by majority vote. If a Councilor does not cast a vote for the High Councilor, the Gayme Master for his respective faction will vote for him by proxy.
On the second day of the month, the Councilors individually appoint two Agents (Lieutenants) to support them in running the Cabal. The scope of the Agents' power is derived solely from the Council of Venice. As with the appointment of the High Councilor, if a Councilor does not appoint his two Agents, his respective Gayme Master will make the appointments for him.
Can I vote in multiple factions?
You are only allowed one vote and that vote is for the faction you currently represent on the site.
